Sauce

There’s nothing like a good sauce on your BBQ.

Some folks believe no sauce or extra flavoring is necessary, but I don’t hang much with that crowd.

I like as much sauce as possible, both during cooking and eating. Slop it on!

This is a recipe peole seem to like a lot.

It’s for BBQ sauce.

Nobody identifies the flavor specifically when they rave about it, but it is my belief that one of the ingredients they like is the liquid smoke.  It’s a flavor that many people do not experience every day.

Ingredients

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp Liquid Smoke

1 C corn syrup (light or dark, your preference)

1/2 tsp garlic powder.

2 C of water or apricot juice

1/2 tsp salt (can be omitted for low sodium diets)

1/2 C tomato paste

5 T molasses

5 T brown sugar  (again, light or dark)

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp pepper

1/3 C vinegar

Simmer all ingredients over a smooth medium to a tad higher heat.

Be sure to be stirring all ingredients so they get combined and don’t clump up.

Simmer for a total of an hour or so, letting it thicken, but being careful that it doesn’t burn.

I think you will like this.
